CAH can and does cause infertility but it most certainly isn’t the only cause. My wife and I tried for nine years to have kids. I was written about in The New England Journal of Urology. I did not know I even had CAH, but I do and yes I am a salt waster and no they have no idea how I survevd to be almost thirty with no major problems. To make a very long story short, once I was diagnosed and ON THE CORRECT STERIOD AND EFFECTIVE DOSE, my wife got pregnant. We have a beautiful 19 year old Daughter and a handsome Son who just turned 17. Even though you don’t want to be a guinea pig you do need to discuss this with an endo. My wife underwent some pretty nasty test before they found my problem and all I had to do was provide blood, urine and sperm samples! It was all worth it. My Endo is in Erie, PA if you feel the need to see someone new. Don’t think a problem with your meds as a kid could be your problem as I never took meds till I was 30 and they got me straightened around, I do remember the endo telling me I needed more Predisone to be fertile than I needed to simply be healthy.
