Life Expentancy

My son who is 27 has CAH.  Recently he has had eposodes of problems with retaining too much potassium.  As a result, he was hospitalized until the extra potassium was removed from his system.  My questions is regarding the effect of the hydrocortisone/florinef on his internal organs.  Is there a connection between the two and if so, can something be done.  He has been told by the emergency room doctors that this potassium problem is a result of kidney failure.  Is there a connection to organ failure and CAH therapy?  And, what is the normal life expentancy of people with CAH?
