re: hair

I had excessive hair in my arms and hair on my face around the chin but the levels were fine.

Can remember this woman primary doc when i was 11- taking her hand staring at me as she rubed the hair. It was terrible.

Had boys on the bus teased me and the other boys would beat them up for it. The girls would just laugh.

The endo and students would blow me off when I brought up the hair because blood levels fine. Hair? isn’t that bad they would say as I would go to school the next day and get teased.

Shaved the area for awhile after no help from the endo and telling the resident that was sent in first. I remember one resident telling me ( I was 11) that it must me hard to go camping...yeah camping try talking to the endo and resident that would just study.  Used Nair but that ate my skin and left the hair. Used hair bleach to. The excessive hair was bad from around 10  until 18 - even had a resident endo under the endo’s eye increased the pred at the time (17) even though blood work was fine they wanted to see if that would help with hair reduction and it didn’t but I did gain lots of weight.

The excessive hair pretty much went away in my 20’s and what hair there is I take care of with tweezing every so often. The hair on my arms is next to nothing now and that might have something to do with the thyroid condition. I used to have to shave legs every day and know the hair grows to where I’ll shave legs every two weeks.

The kids on the bus.....Oh so creative enjoyed calling me Wokey (The hairy Star Wars Creature.)

Oh yes, I also had crater type acne upon acne from age 14 to 16 and this one girl would really tease me for that but my acne went away when I was 16 and she ended up getting really bad acne at that time. We ended up being in one of the same classes at that time and no I never teased her but still remember the look on her face whenI looked her straight in the eye.

Laser Hair Removal? Sounds like a wonderful idea and I would of went for it during that time period.

Good luck.

My recent endo tried to give me the vaniqua but the light hair that I do have doesn’t bother me. Someone really thin and completely hairless for me isn’t real but an air brushed fantasy of American culture.
