Hypoplasia is x-linked which means my boys get their messed up gene from me rather than from both of his parents.  The disorder only affects male children-  basically my boys’ bodies do not produce a protein that enables the adrenal glands to "fully develop" so the end result is that while my boys’ adrenals have some function (the older one wasn’t diagnosed until he was 2) but this function will decrease over their life, very much like Addison’s’s.  Both boys take florineff (for saltwasting) and Corteff (for the adrenal insuff) and @ time of puberty they will more than likely need to take testosterone supplementation.
