Voracious appetite!
Sep. 30th, 2006   8:17am

A few weeks ago I was on high doses of corticosteroids for eighteen days because of a severe asthma attack .

Just near the end of the wean down I noticed that my appetite had increased ++ .  Even although it is now three weeks since I resumed my normal hydrocortisone dose, my appetite is still voracious - although I keep reminding myself to control my intake because I know (or think I know) why it’s happened.

I’m currently also on a reasonably high dose of steroid asthma preventers which I don’t think would be increasing the appetite too much.

Any ideas as to why it’s taking so long to settle down the appetite? Would the increased steroid dose really keep causing this to happen so long after the event? Has it stuffed up my metabolism? Blood sugars seem to be ok.
