to carol m.....another question for you

hi carol m

i guess i keep on asking questions but that is when i don’t get an appropriate from answer from anywhere else.

this time the question arised after reading the following  post "mlle:size of the adrenal glands" on the main page.

i learnt from the post up there that while on steroids the adrenal gland shrinks and  almost stops working because of the steroid replacement being done synthetically.

i have a small question,my son was diagnosed of swcah when he was just 13 days old and after medication of steroids for about 15 days his endocrine sysyem was scanned(sonographed).this was what dr. said in his report about the adrenal glands,"the glands are of normal size and functioning properly and no signs of cah"

when i asked our doc about this, she said "this means the medicine is going in the baby correctly which is why everything seems to be normal". i got what she said.

but from the answer to that post by julie, she explained that the adrenal glands shrink and almost stop functioning while on medication.that is opposite to what was with my kid.

so did i understand it incorrectly or do adrenals glands function differently in infancy.i really wish to know.
