Could she be experiencing acid reflux?  If so, that can (and needs to be) controlled with meds.  My daughter has taken various medications for reflux for years.  In fact, we just went to her gastroenterologist today and they increased her Nexium.  Even at the right dose, these drugs are hard on the digestive system.  Good luck.
