RebeccaMTamaraP,
It is very scary to send your child to daycare but I found it helpful to find out, in addition to everything else, if there was anyone on staff with diabetes who gives themselves insulin shots. Also, and I know I am a bit odd but, I asked if any of the teachers had a child with asthma or another condition. I told them the reason I asked was to make myself more comfortable with two things. One, that there was someone there that would feel comfortable giving a shot and/or perhaps someone who understood better what a health emergency for a child with a condition was like and would not become overly anxious at the same time understanding how important "acting quickly" can be in certain situations.
Turns out the director had diabetes and one of the teachers had a son with Asthma. Turns out this also helped me be able to communicate what CAH was with them because of their prior knowledge of medical terminology.
So, you may be surprised when you ask and it may help relieve you a little.
Hope that helps,
RebeccaM
