adult CAH with learning disability

I have recently married into a family with a sister with CAH and a learning disability.  She has been incarcerated in a mental hospital for the past 20 years.  It is the wrong place for her.  She doesn’t receive the proper care she needs and has no life or stimulation beyond the tv and food.  The hospital want to put her into a flat by herself in the middle of city (English system of care in the community!), every time they do this to her she becomes suicidal as she cannot form friendships and has a low IQ and has never been supported in developing her potential as a human being.  We are trying to get her out of this situation.  We have found a Steiner Community who are interested in having her.  Here she would live as part of a community of people with LDs and be given opportunities to develop herself and find a meaningful path for her life.  Unfortunately because of the initial incorrect diagnosis of mental health problems we cannot get funding for her to go to the Steiner Community.  The only care open to her with the present diagnosis is the mental institution.  We are desperately trying to get as much information especially from recognized medical professionals on the subject of CAH and LDs to support our case.  If anyone knows of a doctor who has done research into this area who might be able to support us in getting her diagnosis over turned so that we can get her the help she needs  please could you post up the information.  Katy
