AndrewHi
It really can get to a parent, all the questions and uncertainties that surround a new diagnosis. In the short term, you’ll ensure your daughter is well managed, enjoy her, and you should try, really try to look after yourself and keep strong.
In the coming weeks and months you will get most of the answers you are looking for. It is difficult to get over the upset of this diagnosis, and I can remember that we used up a lot of emotion and energy trying to become instantly expert on CAH.
CAH is a genetic disorder, and so has nothing to do with your difficulties in pregnancy.
You may not need to be genetically tested to show whether you have CAH - there are other diagnostic tests. I got my genes tested, and if you do too, you can ask the geneticist to explain again how genetics are the cause of your daughter’s CAH. You can never have too much of this info/reassurance!
With every good wish,
