Our Salt Waster boy was diagnosed after becoming dangerously ill at about 10 days. That’s how long it took for any deficiency to appear, as his Mum’s hormones etc. washed out of his system. So in the womb there was no effect.

I’m no doctor, as I’m sure is patently obvious, but I have wrestled with questions similar to yours.
