Thank you so much for sharing your information. It is helpful to learn from an experienced mom. It is obvious you love your daughter and have her best interests at heart. Having to wait until she was grown may have been hard to endure but in the end the best for your daughter given the type of surgery she needed. There have been many posts from women who had surgery 20 years ago and now suffer from the results.
We have recently taken our daughter at age 3, for complete reconstructive surgery and I know it was the right decision. I could not honestly see how she could live a happy childhood looking and functioning so differently from other girls.
Current surgical techniques and the opportunity to find a surgeon with lots of experience has greatly improved so the surgery your daughter recently had will undoubtedly give her a positive outcome. I wish her and you all the best.
