Robin, how are your levels now? My daughter will be 16 in December. Your side effects sound just like hers. Regardless of the amount, type, or time of medications, we could not get her androgen levels down. She has even been on an androgen blocker and an estrogen inhibitor for the past two years (along with her 25mg corted and florinef). We finally had her adrenal glands removed a couple of weeks ago. We figured it had to be easier to replace what they are supposed to produce than it was to attempt to suppress them and then given replacement meds. I wouldn’t recommend the adrenalectomy though unless you are already a salt waster. That would just be something else you would have to get used to. Before trying anything so drastic though, ask about androgen blockers. She was taking flutamide. They did help her somewhat with facial hair, acne, and return of menstration. Unfortunately, they didn’t really help with the anxiety. I think the wacky hormone levels you are dealing with has a lot to do with that!
