how do I deal with a prednisone addict?

Back during the spring, I met someone on a forum who insisted that she had an intersexed condition, due to having an oversized clitoris and that she considered herself too sexual. Except that her t-levels were normal and the only signs of insufficient cortisol was the withdrawal symptoms of after she took prednisone for insect-allergies.

The others on that forum were making fun of her for being delusional, so I offered the theoretical possibility of one of the uncommon CAH’s, in order to spare her some embarrassment. I’d been reading about CAH at the time.

She took what I’d foolishly said, and has since spun it into how she definately has a certain rare form of CAH, based on all her years of experience being a personal attendent to the developmentally disabled. And she got her doctor to prescribe her a huge supply of prednisone for a constant stream of bug bites which she made up. And even though she’s had no tests indicating abnormal adrenals, she’s gotten herself pretty thoroughly hooked on prednisone.

Even worse, she’s been telling people with LoCAH that no matter what their doctor prescribed, that they need prednisone, because she knows better due to her vast medical knowledge. Apparently she may even be giving her excess pills away to anyone willing to take them.

I tried to suggest to her that she might easily not have CAH, and that prednisone isn’t good unless you really need it. Then she blew up at me, saying that I was a bitch for contradicting her obvious case of CAH. And started telling a lot of mean lies about me personally. Now she’s blackmailing me into silence with the threat of her slander.

And I don’t know what to do. I’d be happy to walk away, except she’s pretending to have a medical background and giving people very bad advice that could hurt them. And for that, I feeling really guilty for help to set any of this in motion, even if I did have good intentions.
