I had it happen to me years ago when we had AT&T phone cards.  Someone had overheard me giving my numbers to the operator and must have copied them down.  Within two days someone had charged up over $5,000 worth of phone calls to Puerto Rico.  Prior to the trip my husband and I took there just a couple of months ago, we don’t know anyonethere to call (or visit - unfortunately).
