I recommend (now) every one check their report once a year.  Annualcreditreport.com is where I went.  I never thought anyone would want to steal my identity or my credit.  :)  I guess it’s good enough.  Lynn I’m sorry to hear that happened to you!  Wish me luck on my journey!  I’m checking ALL of our reports today.

Elaine, I’m glad to hear it wasn’t you or your Barstow.  LOL!  I knew you wouldn’t do that!

I ran into my neighbor this morning and we were discussing this.  He made a very good point that we all need to think about.  I can’t for the life of me figure out how someone got my name and soc number.  I never give it out to write a check, I don’t buy online, it’s not on my license.  He said to me you ALWAYS give it at the hospital.  The light bulb moment.  He used to work at a hospital and said the people who shred the "confidential" information were a bit shady.  I’m not condeming the med community or anything but it did make me think.  Everytime we go to the hospital they get a copy of my insurance card, photo id, soc sec number and personal info.  It makes me wonder.  Anyway, I will calm down here and move on.  Wish me luck!
