CAH Work Related Issues

Does anyone have a work atmosphere that frowns on personal cell-phone usage? I work full-time and I absolutely refuse to turn off my cellphone during the day because I have a baby with CAH and two other young children. If my nanny or the schools needed to reach me at work they would have to go through an operator and I may not be in my office--they would reach voice mail. If I have my cell phone with me I know they will be able to reach me right away. I am hoping this does not become a problem at my work because I have gotten some funny looks when I’ve had to answer calls. Are there any "civil rights" that cover something like this? Or do you think it’s just something you have to work out on a personal level with ones supervisor?
