ChristineHi all...
My 6 year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with CAH. At this point, her levels point to simple-virilizing, as she has a 17-OHP of 12,400 after stimulation, but the NIH recently did another ACTH stim test, so we’ll see what her new levels come out as...She does not have much in the way of virilization in her genital area, but apparently on the CAH continuum, she is either in the more severe non-classic category, or the mild simple-virilizing...
Anyway...I am wondering if anyone has personal experiences they might care to share about pediatric endocrinologists in Wisconsin...? We live in Marshfield, and the peds endo here is a complete *%#$%&#. We will not work with him...He said my daughter would never need stress-dosing, even though she was being treated with Cortef, and didn’t seen any need for a Medic-Alert bracelet. Additionally, he refused to work with the NIH, stating, "They are pediatric endocrinologists like me. Why would they know something I don’t?"
Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Christine
