Discuss the situation with your boss or supervisor, explain your child’s medical condition and the need to be in contact with his/her carer if necessary.   There could be a problem if you are receiving calls frequently which are not related to your child’s medical condition and I would understand how this could annoy your fellow workers and your supervisor.
