Strict Child Care Rules - Not Fair!
Nov. 23rd, 2006   8:17pm
When my husband picked our 1 year old son up from our sitter’s today, she informed him that the child care agency told her that there is a new rule regarding our son’s injection kit. They told our sitter, she has to carry his injection kit in a pouch buckled around her waist at all times. This is to protect the other children there - incase one of them were to inject themselves! My husband and I are furious. We think our sitter is great. Our son loves her but we feel that the rule is not fair. She does not have to carry any other meds in a pouch and they can be just as dangerous. What if she cared for a child that was diabetic and needed insulin that must be refridgerated? I don’t think they would make her carry it in a hip pouch with an ice pack. Does anyone else bring thier child to daycare with any rules like this?
