I hate to sound like I’m treating my son like a guinea pig but I have been fiddling around with his dosing for a couple of years.   Whenever he’s been given cortef (or Arimidex which is another drug - an aromotase inhibitor) before bed he doesn’t grow period.  My doctor has talked me into it a couple of times because she was afraid his bone age would advance but with no bedtime dose he grows and his bone age is fine.  We go every 3 months so there would be no growth at the next visit.  When I change it back to no dose before bed he grows.

He’s also always been very slim but he has a very mild case and takes a low dose of cortef.  He’s never gained weight no matter what we do.

Now he gets 2.5 mg at 3 AM and 2.5 when he wakes up.  He used to get another 2.5 at 3 PM but we cut that out and he grew especially well this last visit.  We’re due for a bone age in 3 months so I hope it will stay good.
