I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Pureology line of products, but they make a mousse  called Root lift that is great for fine hair. As far as using mayonaise for conditioner I don’t know if I would recommend that. I used to do that years ago before I was a  hairdresser, and it left my hair feeling pretty greasy (and I have thick course hair).
