LauraWe all could use some positive news. I tried to inject some with the "what are you thankful for?" post, but didn’t get much of a response. I am glad you posted this.
The good I have found in CAH is that we don’t take a day, a minute or a second for granted with our daughter. She is special in every way and I often wonder who we all would be as a family if she didn’t have this disease. Who would she be? Would she not be as resilient? Brave? Strong? Mature? Would we all take her for granted? I look at other mom’s that have healthy children. I see something missing in their eyes. I have plenty of friends that are excellent mothers. They would die for their children. But you know what? They are all missing something in their eyes. I look at a mother with a diabetic child, one that has a child with juvenile arthritis, and the many more out there. I see something different. Something special. It is the special love they hold for their children that carry these diseases, disabilities, and medical conditions. It is as if we are given another layer of love for our children. And I believe that love gets reflected into our children. They are full of love.
