re: CAH carriers associated with PCOS?

Two weeks ago I visited a cousin of mine whom I hadn’t seen for 20 + years.

I don’t know whether she was ’trying to connect the dots’ or not but she told me that her two daughters both had PCOS and were told that they would probably have great difficulty conceiving. One has now had children and the other hasn’t yet.

Almost in the same breath she reminisced about when we were very young children and how different I was and how ’developed’ among other things I was at an early age - she was older than me. After those early years, many years went by when we didn’t see each other.

On reflection I wondered whether she was trying to see if there was any relationship between what her daughters had and how she perceived me to be. So I wrote down on a piece of paper the medical condition I have, CAH ~ 21- Hydroxylase deficiency, so if they want to pursue any genetic testing then that’s up to them. For me at least it is out in the open on that side of the family.
