I don’t remember if it is in this article or another one I read, but it says that too much cortisol can cause depression and not enough can cause it. My theory is that many people that are bipolar have trouble regulating cortisol and/or adrenaline. Sometimes having too much and sometimes not having enough. Just a theory though.

 I don’t think that the antidepressent effects of hydrocortisone are just through IV, because I have experienced the same effects by taking 15mg of Cortef a day. There is such a big difference in my mood now, then when I was taking Dex. Dex seemed to exacerbate the problem.

 Hey when you do try a couple of cortef let me know how it goes, lol. Oh and I experienced the giddy happy hyper on 25 mg of Cortef. Wouldn’t mind staying that way if I didn’t blow up like a blow fish :oP
