It’s funny you mention the depression/bipolar/too much/too little cortisol link.  My sister is bipolar and a cah carrier.  She makes at least 10 times the amount of cortisol as "normal".  Yet, she shows absolutely NO signs of cushingoid.  I make most of the time 6 times the normal amount of cortisol and show no signs of cushingoid and have occasional depression.  Our doctors are puzzled with us.  Interesting thing about both of us (oh and our cousin) is we have an outrageous amount of kidney stones.  Wish we could find a way to fix that!

I’ll let you know if I ever dive into their cortef.  :)  It made me laugh when I said that.  I don’t know if you ever watch "Desperate Housewives" but one of the characters got addicted to her son’s ADD meds.  I laughed to myself wondering if the cortef would make me feel that productive and happy.  Oh boy!

Blessings!
