So have you peeled your wall paper off your bathroom wall yet sleeping on the floor with your child as the shower runs to try and get rid of that croup? UGH, gotta love croup. We have spent MANY nights on that bathroom floor before we discovered the beauty Pred. can bring. BUT at a price. YES. I will agree with hyperness it can bring. My daughter is on that frequently when she runs into respiratory problems. My daughter has asthma on top of CAH. I can remember when she was admitted for a respiratory virus that was similar to RSV. She was I think 5. She was brought into the E.R. and hooked up to oxygen she was SO bad. They admitted her. Within the next 24 hours they pumped her full of Pred. of course on TOP of Cortef which blew my mind but they say is ok to do. Yeah, sure. But have they ever seen these kids bounce off walls, LITERALLY. Then when they give them breathing treatments on top of all that, OH MY. My daughter who was always a quiet, content child was insane that day. She was no lie like a monkey. She within seconds of slipping out of her bed, pushed every button, and opened every cabinet, curtain, you name it within milliseconds. OUT OF CONTROL. I never in my life seen a kid move so fast. Her cheeks were bright pink, and her eyes looked huge. I feel for you Jen. Just take it one hour at a time. The thing is, when a kid is sick they usually want to sleep it off and then YOU get to rest. WRONG. Not with this. I know my daughter was wound a billion times over and never slept. So I feel for you. One hour at a time, and remember THIS TOO SHALL PASS. And a warning also. As they get weaned off, and back down to the normal dose of Cortef, BEWARE. I know with my daughter it was a roller coaster ride down. From crying, to swiping at me. Nothing, absolutely nothing like her personality. They become different children. It is so hard to watch, but stay strong!!!! Give lots of love. This too shall pass, this too shall pass.Laura
