I understand all day kindergarten is helpful for parents and good for some kids, but overall, from what I have seen, all day kindergarten is just too much.  2 of my children went to 1/2 day kinder and 1 went to all day kinder.  I have also worked in the lunch room for years and have witnessed these little sweeties’ emotions change.  FIVE years old is YOUNG!!  Many still NEED naps and they NEED to be at home with mom.  However, many moms don’t see it that way and can’t do it that way.  If your child is having a difficult time, pull him out, if possible.  We are pushing our kids out of the door younger & younger.  Now its 4yr old kinder.  What next, 3yr old kindergarten!!
