I guess it comes easier when it’s the husband that’s the worrisome one, because unless I know for certain they take our kids’ condition seriously, they are not left with anyone. So far the only ones we’ve allowed them to stay the night with, or any length of time are my dad, my sister and a family that has two kids the same age as two of mine, and the mother works in health care, so she knows that it’s not something that can be shrugged off. It’s easier for me to put my foot down and say, "This is how it’s going to be," since I’m the guy.

But it’s like we’ve always said...

Parents must be an aggressive advocate of their children health care!
