Hi again. Well the Cortef has not caused me to gain any weight...although I could stand to lose about 20lbs anyway. I used to take Dexamethasone for about 12 yrs or so and that had a major weight gaining potential even though I did fairly well considering the doses I was on.

Honestly I would much rather be about 20lbs overweight then wake up mad at the world everyday.

I posted a link to an article about Cortef being used as an antidepressent...it’s somewhere down there. I think it’s under "interesting"

Feeling happier and calmer was just an added benefit.  I just wanted a treatment that was not as hard on my body as Dex was. I was on a minimal dose and still had side effects...so to me that wasn’t working out....then after a trial on Cortef I knew I had to get on it permenantly. It was rocky at first but once I got the right dose things have been fine.

You may want to get your son to NIH too. That way they will do dna testing on you and your son for free. They will pay for you and your son to fly there too. So would be worth it to check it out. I’m sure you and Natalie have already gone over the details in email. It is worth going there, I promise. It was a great experience!

 Anyway take care....
