Hi Christine -

I am new to this myself, but I have a 6 yr old son with the exact same problem with stomach pain - he takes Nexium but since starting Cortef complains a lot more.  (I had read that the stomach thing could be a result of having CAH??)   However, he is tolerating his dosing okay and he is on a lot (his bone age was VERY advanced - 11-12 yrs old) so they are trying to stop growth ASAP.  He take 5mg 3x/day. 

So, unfortunately, I don’t have an answer for you but I do have two thoughts:

1.  Maybe another GERD medicine would help, i.e. Nexium or ??  Maybe talk to your gastronenterologist?

2.  Could you try giving her Maalox or something like that to coat her stomache right before the Cortef?
