I’d love to know whether any research has been done to see if there is any connection between untreated adrenal insufficiency such as CAH and the onset of GERD, refractory oesophagitis etc.

I know that when I went off my steroids for a period of time I developed severe stomach erosions and reflux which settled down after a period of time back on steroids and proton pump inhibitors. Paradoxically now it only usually rears it’s ugly head when I’ve had large doses of oral steroids for other reasons such as asthma.

I know it is a bit drastic but depending on your daughters levels and in view of her inability to take a sufficient dose of oral steroids, this may be a case to get your doctor to look seriously at the infusion pump which KathyG from the UK has for her SWCAH son (search archived messages).
