Tonia"Papa Elf" (my husband) made this breakfast pie when I went to bed on Christmas Eve. He baked it for a wonderful breakfast on Christmas morning. It was delicious and filling! He said it was super easy to make. Enjoy!
Breakfast "pie"2 8oz cans Pillsbury crescent rolls1 lb bulk pork sausage (we used maple- yummy!)1 8 oz pkg cream cheese8 oz shredded cheddar cheeseoptional ingredients:1 small can chiles3 scrambled eggsHeat oven to 375. Unroll 1 can of dough into 2 long rectangles. Place in ungreased 13 X 9 glass baking dish. Press over bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust.Brown sausage in large skillet until thoroughly cooked. Remove sausage and drain. Add cream cheese to skillet. Cook over low heat until melted. Add sausage (and green chiles- drained). Stir to coat. Spoon evenly over crust in baking dish. (Add eggs cooked scrambled eggs if you choose) Sprinkle with cheese.Unroll second can of dough on wax paper. Press to for 13 X 9 rectangle. Firmly press perforations to seal. Carefully invert dough over cheese.Bake at 375 for 21 to 25 min or until golden brown. Cook 15 min. Cut into 32 squares.
