My daughter with SWCAH began progressing through puberty rapidly at the age of 9 also. She took the Depo-lupron shot monthly until her 11th birthday. We were very anxious about beginning a new medicine because only a year before she had been placed on a 6 night a week injection of growth hormones because her growth rate had slowed to almost nothing. We trust our endo doctor as we have been with her since the day our daughter was born. The Lupron helped alot with the mood swings that my daughter had begun to have. It is hard enough dealing with an 12 year old who is experiencing mood swings due to puberty, but my 9 year old just didn’t know how to handle her emotions at all.
