MarkGlad to read;
I was the only child of my Mom and Dad. 1/2 brother and sister from Mom’s previous marriage, neither are CAH. I was sick alot at early age, really tough on my parents.
Mood Swings;
What I found that works is taking med’s right on time, two times a day, not missing any, 12hours apart. My mom would put in apple sauce when young at dinner, I never new... I hate apple sauce now. I figured out that I needed to get the exact amount of sleep every night, that helps alot. Really structure my sleep habits. Don’t over stuff on food, really makes me moody, watch sugar intake!
My parents kept me very occupied thru child years and puberty. Keeps your mind occupied. Was into all sports and outdoor activities. Excelled in sports until I stopped growing at about age 14. Was bigger and stronger then my friends until then, so I was always the star in sports. I still struggle with mood swings due to stress at work. I try to stay very occupied not letting my mind wonder, that’s when the moods start. Changes in med levels throw you for a loop, ups and downs, really tough... Get feeling right then stressed dosed do to illness, really sucks!
Never really get tired alot, and since early 20’s never get sick.
I always was hairy on legs, didn’t start having hair under arms until around 10 year old, pubic hair started just after.
I ended up 5’ 6" weight about 155 #’s. My parents and sisters are all around 6’. My daughter is 13 and 5’ 8" and son is 11 around 5’ and has same shoe size. (makes for a interesting family photo).
Future health;
Watch for testicular tumors in puberty, can be controlled with meds. Since early 20’s have had zero problems and enjoy my endo doctor, we talk about all kinds of SWCAH issues in general. Its almost like he bounces stuff off me to see my reaction and listens to comments.
I have always been really aggressive in what ever I am doing since I can remember, and I have been very successful because of. Not sure if its because hormones or just genetic.
Happy New year.
