All I can say is that I sympathize. My partner did not want to put our child’s medic alert bracelet on. Basically I talked to our pediatrician about it and I think the pediatrician may have given my partner hell about it, invoking social services and every other thing, and it got better.

The medic alert bracelet is pretty much a no-brainer, though, while the choice of drug is not so clear cut. It still may be worth trying to get the doctor to write a letter stating that the kid needs the drug - that might put it into the custodial area if it is not pursued.
