re: Drug reaction

Hi Mum, well I just wanted to sympithize with your son and the nausea drug reaction. Do you remember which one is was? You should make sure he never gets it again. He needs to know to write that down on the list of drugs he is allergic to.

Well as far as the solucortef goes, I know that when someone has a severe allergic reaction some hospitals give solumedrol, which is about the same thing... So that was not the wrong thing to do. Is it possible to reschedule the tests? Can I ask what tests he was having done? Were they for CAH?

Also can I ask you what steroid he normally takes for CAH? and how much?

Oh and I just wanted to add that Promethazine, and Reglan make me panick like I can’t breathe and I get very hot and want to run or something, my heart races too.....and Droperidol or Inapsane (generic) caused me to have a severe reaction, I also could not get up or think or anything...I couldn’t even call the nurse, and I was alone. I had earplugs in my ears and I could hear different people moaning, like were dieing or in pain. It had to wear off, after I had my procedure done I woke up and was okay for the most part.  I’ll never forget it, and I don’t want that drug within a hundred feet of me ever again!!

Your son is lucky that you were there with him. Is the piriton for allergic reaction? Did it help? I’m sure you did the right thing, because whatever it was...it was stress on his body, so you did what you knew to do. I know it must be difficult.

 Take care
