To KatYES, I was trying to remember who my hive buddy was on this board. YOU’RE the one! No we haven’t taken her to an allergist about this yet. We have taken her to an allergist for her asthma condition and had her tested that way. She is allergic to dogs, cats, house dust (there goes my housework ethics) and fall leaves. We notice if she picks up the cat without a shirt on, she gets hivey from the cat fur on her body. BUT she can pet the cat and be fine skin wise. It just seems to be when she has her bare belly exposed to the cat.
We also found she cannot tolerate the chlorine at the public pool and have stopped going there. Now I am wondering if it is from the cold water or the chlorine. But this new hive thing with the cold air. WOW. That was really weird. I didn’t know it had a name. I tell you Kat, we need to exchange phone numbers. We should open a hive line up in our houses. We are thinking a certain type of plastic is irritating my daughter’s skin, causing the hives. OH and another thing we have found. Well this is actually a rash this time, she has been getting a rash on the inside of her arms, where they draw blood and we put the EMLA cream on. I almost posted this as a question to others to see if anyone else has has problems with rashes on that part of their arms and have used EMLA cream. Now she hasn’t used it in quite some time, but I wonder if that cream does something to the skin after so many years of using it there. And with the queen of rashes and hives, I wouldn’t put it past that. This skin of hers is just insane! Now I am itching just talking about it! Thanks for the tips.
