re: re: MUNCHAUSEN’S SYNDROME BY PROXY

There was a time I was concerned (not about munchausen’s, but about abuse) because my daughter seemed to break an awful lot of bones growing up.  Everyone who knows me knows I allowed her to do everything any other child would do, even though she has CAH.  After breaking each of her arms (one twice) broken toe, broken ankle, broken thumb, and numerous sprains I had the orthopaedic dr do a bone density test.  It was normal.  Her diagnosis  - clumsy and unlucky!  I’m not trying to be funny, just to let you know that you have to worry first about taking care of your child and not what others may think - and there are lots of other kids just like mine who tend to break bones, get sick, etc.  Mine just happens to also have CAH and when those things occurred, we stress dosed and called the dr just as we should have.  As far as the CAH, I don’t know how anyone could "fake" it or induce it in their child.  Relax and enjoy your children and please don’t worry about what others may think.  Life is just too short for that.
