Does my newborn have CAH, results from 17-OH screening test
Jan. 15th, 2007   12:30pm
Hi everyone. We have been very anxious over the last few days because we were informed by our doctor that our son has to restest his 17 OH Progesterone because it was slightly high.

She said that the result was 56. And the normal limit for newborns was 48. However, he’s eating really well (breast feeding) and seems to be gaining weight.

Does anyone know if it could be a false positive....or another questions is with CAH are the 17OH Progesterone levels in newborns usually very high - like if the nomral limit is 48, should CAH cause OH levels to be 100 or 200.

Thanks for any help or thoughts!

Jake (Dad)
