I think you might be surprised that eventually things will be Ok and CAH will be just part of life and they have come along way with the treatment since I was born with Simple- Virilizing CAH 36 years ago.

Ask the Endo about adrenal crisis and a plan to make the ER aware of the needs of someone with CAH. Where I live four hospitals have the info in their system on the need for the emergency shot and I’ve also called the Endo first when I was on the way to the hospital. 

There are three types of CAH. Late Onset, Simple - Virilizing, and Salt-Wasting ( I can’t say which is worst)  and this site have give more info http://www.caresfoundation.org along with people here. Some people just get medical conditions earlier then others but this will not pervent him from doing most anything that he wants.
