As the parent of an 18 yr old SWCAH daughter, I would like to echo what Tracy said. It is scary at first, but over time you will get used to it and find that your children can (and will) do all the stuff any other child does. You will learn from your doctors, this board and experience what to watch for when your child is sick or injured. Be sure you know how and when to stress dose and how to give a Solu-Cortef injection - just in case - and then don’t worry about having to give it. I gave my daughter her first injection when she was 3 or 4, another when she was about 7 and one this past summer a few days after she turned 18. With her, each time she required it she had a vomiting illness and was very sick. My daughter is now a senior in high school and looking at going away to college next year. To me, that’s a little scary, but she has learned over the years how to manage her CAH. I guess what I am trying to tell you is to try to relax and not worry too much about the CAH. Know what to do and then let your kids be kids. Enjoy every minute because they will grow up so fast and then be like mine - looking at colleges. Good luck.kay g
