Sorry to hear that your Mom is going through so much, Laura; I remember that she’s been sick for a long time now.

Unfortunately, we’ve had a lot of deaths in our family since my own daughter (age 9) was born, because we have a LOT of elderly relatives. Most of them, my daughter was not all that close to, but when my Grandpa died 2 yrs ago, she was really upset. I can’t say that it even occured to me to stress dose her for that, and she never had any signs of crisis or other medical problems other than normal grief reactions. We also lost a very dear and close friend last year - very suddenly and without a chance to say "good-bye" - it was hard on us all... especially my daughter. Then, as well, we didn’t adjust her meds, and there were no problems.

I’ve heard about people going into crisis from emotional stress, so it definitely can happen. I guess you might just have to watch her. All of our endos have always said "No" to emotional stress dosing, but we all know that THEY don’t know everything! ; ) Check with your own endo, and in the end I guess you have to decide what’s best for your own daughter. As was said here, it can’t hurt for a short term.

Praying God’s peace and comfort for your Mom, and for your whole family.
