SonyaWell apparently I’m the only one to get my daughter’s ears pierced as an infant. The ped did it when she was 4 months and really, her immunizations caused her more pain. They also have screw on backs so they don’t stab the side of their head with the back and my daughter never seemed to notice. The advantage of doing it so young to me was that 1) she’s never going to remember the pain. 2) she was too young to ’mess’ with them. 3) I was the one taking care of them, not her, so I was never worried about an infection.
I don’t think there should be anymore concern just because someone has CAH. My daughter’s had skinned knees that cause alot more scabbing, bleeding, and scarring than her piercing ever did.
hopefully not everyone will think horribly now of me or try to make me feel like I’m a terrible parent.

For some people it’s also cultural. If it was up to my mom’s side of the family (mexican) she would have had them before we left the hospital when she was born.
