re: re: New to CAH

My son is on salt, cortef, and florinef.  We were lucky enough to get set up with a great endo. she also speaks Spanish which is great for my husband who is from Mexico.  When they sent my son to the hospital by ambulance his potassium was at a 7.5.  Our regular pediatrician seemed really laid back about it all until she contacted the endo who said to have him rushed to the children’s hospital.  I really don’t know how I feel about having the regular pediatrician as my sons doctor any more.  She just seems so laid back about everything, when the endo says that my son is a VIP and should never be just looked of as having a cold when he is sick.  But she has had one child with CAH, but she said it was about 10 years ago.  I just feel like I already know more about CAH than she does.  I hope that I am wrong about that.

Speaking of colds,  my son caught one over the holiday season and his potassium levels went up from it.  Is that normal?
