LizJulie,
I can totally relate to the whole doctor seeming laid back. All the doctors when I was in the hospital asked my mother about what Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia was. Talk about sad when they should go look it up in a medical book or remember it from medical school.
Our pediatric endocrinologist had to call me to set up an appointment because my pediatrics were not doing a good job at doing what they needed to do. They had failed to set up an appointment even though all of her blood work showed significantly high levels.
I’m glad that you’ve got a pediatrician who can speak spanish that is definitely a good quality to have when your husband speaks that. He definitely needs to be in the know as well as you. As for the potassium question, it may be related to the stress that he could have had that problem. I have honestly never heard of that happening, but other parents here who’ve had CAH children could probably answer that.
Good luck and I am glad that you have some good support there.
Liz
