My 2 daughters have LOCAH and have smelly hair.  My oldest is now 17yr and still has that musty odor.  Both girls have tried numerous hair products, shampoo everyday, all with no luck!  The docs don’t seem to have an answer but apparently this is a common problem with LOCAH/CAH kids.  Folks have written on this board several times in the past about their kids’ smelly hair.

If your son is getting pimples, it is probably because he is under suppressed as Liz mentioned above.  I’d talk to my endo and get labs/bone age.
