SSI is a very touchy subject on this board. If you look in the archives there are many post about this!

SOme get it some don’t. It must depend on the state your in.

I have tried for 7 years for SSI. He is 10 yrs old with SWCAH. I did go before the judge & numerous appeal. I adopted him when he was 3 yrs old & due to the fact that it was a pre-existing conditon we cannot get him on our medical insurance thru our employer or life insurance becuse CAH is considered a high risk! That was my biggest factor.
