My son is 10 1/2.

I have no idea yet as to how much I will be held responsible for, as  to the cost of the growth hormone. Here is the odd part. I am divorced, and my ex and I flip-flop years in regards who to can deduct my son. In 2006 I have my son as a deduction. Who knows what will happen in 2007...sheesh.  Right now I am still using the one free month welcome pack of meds. I know that my case will not be reviewed by the foundation in time for the next month’s dose. I have no idea how much I am going to get hit up for, monetarily. It was hinted at, that based on my income, I may receive the medication at no charge, which would be the reason I would forever be indebted to Genentech. I am anticipating an 8-year commitment to growth hormone, at the very least.

My son’s appetite is nill for about 20-22 hours after his injection. Then he starts getting really hungry again. He says that the food does not look appealing. He is also saying that the kids at school are used to him eating huge amounts, and they won’t leave him alone about it now that he has no appetite. My kid can’t win. He has also said that he doesn’t like the feeling of not being really really hungry, since he enjoys eating food (trust me, he does not have a wide food-repetoire). He has been an eating-machine for well over 2 years now. I feel so bad for him.
