I went to the pharmacy yesterday to buy needles for my daughter’s Solu-Cortef. (They don’t send them with the medication, nor does the pharmaceutical company recommend a particular size for administering!) I had one needle at home already and it was a 23 gauge x 1-1/2" needle. That is what we have used in the past. What the pharmacist sold me was 23 gauge x 1". He said 1" is sufficient for intramuscular injection. He told me they only sell the 1-1/2" for someone who is obese and is taking the intramuscular injection. Has anyone else ever used the 1" before? I have to give Kristin a shot next Wednesday morning before we go to the hospital for her hip surgery and I guess I’ll use the longer needle I already had, but want to know if the others will be sufficient for future use.kay
